1st prize

So, im almost done with the first prize for the Grandprize winner of my contest. Deviant ~PrincessOblivious won with an amazinly planned out entry. (view piece) I'm in turn drawing her a full colored chibi CG, a colored character sheet, an avatar and a feature in my devART journal. The character she asked me to color is Lynnete. She has a female goshawk (a type of mountain hawk) Now the colors of the female and male goshaw are different. Male=Blueish+Purple, Female=Brown. I wanted some some contrast on the image, so i drew a blue goshawk with her ceremonial robes, which you can see are orangy. Its comming out fine.

Well..about an hour later i realized that i had promissed her a FULLY colored CG...meaning i needed a background. I was not prepared for that becasue, as some of you may know, im not that experienced at making complex backgrounds. So, like the idiot i am, i set myself, unconciously of course, to draw some of the hardest things for me to draw: clouds and rocks. Amazingly enough i pulled it off.

Yay! It was going well. Then i remebered the bird. the rowcks wouldn't match. And i had not even started on the bird. So i got myself a reference pic, played with the layer hues and BAM!
